My name is Josh Kizler and I am the creator of Emerging Environments. I initially used Emerging Environments to express my thoughts about all things environmental. I then had a brief battle with cancer and wanted to document my journey. Considering the dichotomy between environment and cancer, I decided to use Emerging Environments however I please while still hoping for and considering an audience.
I am a white American male from the suburbs. I have the most beautiful West African wife. Together we have a daughter who people frequently perceive as Chinese. I love my family.
I love to run, hike, and cook. I have a fondness for West Africa, coffee, movies, and easy vacations staying at cheap motels in towns nearby that I don’t know.
I have a Bachelor of Arts from U.C. Berkeley and a Master of Applied Science from the University of Denver. I have written articles for plasticbaglaws.org, volunteered for various environmental activities, and held numerous and often trivial conversations about the environment. I am a Burkina Faso returned Peace Corps volunteer. I am familiar with five languages but only speak English and French well, or so I think.
I hope that you enjoy Emerging Environments. I write with the intent to provide solutions and express my faith in positivity.
